After all the hoopla about Peachtree being shut down for three days and the APD's "attempts" to prevent crane-climbing copycats, that's exactly what happened three days later when some other nutjob climbed halfway up a crane just a few blocks away from Carl's perch. Fortunately, the second standoff lasted for a much shorter time, as police were able to lure the climber down with -- get this -- cigarettes and doughnuts. Moral of that story: if you're a smoker and planning to climb a crane, it's probably a good idea to take your box of Nicorette patches up with you.
