The linked article distinguishes between little b and big B bosses, where the big B &quot;Bosses&quot; are the ones that are antiquated, since they can only be defeated if &quot;you apply a set of nonsensical and arbitrary rules for a hideously long time.&quot;  It&#039;s a sliperly slope, of course, but I do find it frustrating when I&#039;m really enjoying a game&#039;s play mechanic and it&#039;s tossed out the window on encountering a boss, whose only purpose is to punctuate a &quot;level&quot;.  Level-boss-level-boss.  It&#039;s an accepted structure, but not always a natural one in my opinion.</description>
