		<description>I like how you put that: "getting a handle on the person."  It does seem like there's just a feeling once you get to know someone that makes you comfortable dealing with them.  And that feeling is often completely missing when folks are remote, in a different time zone, and all the rest.

I certainly hope to make some progress towards understanding how Second Life might help address that problem.  We'll see how far I get.  :-)</description>

		<description>fascinating. i had no idea you were working on second life. anything that gets lurkers to 'delurk' as you put it sounds good to me. i think one of the frustrating things to me about working with people in a different country (a fact that is increasingly common in all software projects) was that i didn't have a handle on this person. and if you're doing what i think you're doing then that problem will be solved. our team would have worked so much better if we had 'delurked' as it were.</description>
